Thanks for your interest in LHS!  If you are requesting as sign, please include your delivery address.  If you prefer, you can hide your personal information by checking the box that says 'Don't post this publicly'.  We will deliver your sign and help you put if up if needed.

The yard signs are very important!  The first 250 signs, purchased by a small small team of volunteers, have all been distributed.  Every sign has the potential to attract yet another supporter, just like yourself, so we have to keep the work of building support going.  To do that we need your financial support too!

Your donation - $5, $20, $100 or any level - will enable us to replenish our supply of signs and keep the website up.  Please donate today to help add more voices to this cause.  Your support is essential to our students and our neighborhood!

Just wanted to ask if you would be interested in getting external help with graphic design? We do all design work like banners, advertisements, photo edits, logos, flyers, etc. for a fixed monthly fee.

We don’t charge for each task. What kind of work do you need on a regular basis? Let me know and I’ll share my portfolio with you.

This is Melanka and I am a qualified photographer.

I was discouraged, frankly speaking, when I came across my images at your web-site. If you use a copyrighted image without an owner’s permission, you need to be aware that you could be sued by the copyright owner.

It’s not legal to use stolen images and it’s so disgusting!

Check out this document with the links to my images you used at and my earlier publications to obtain the evidence of my copyrights.

Download it now and check this out for yourself:

If you don’t get rid of the images mentioned in the file above within the next couple of days, I’ll file a complaint on you to your hosting provider letting them know that my copyrights have been severely infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.

And if it doesn’t help, for damn sure I am going to take it to court! And I won’t give you a prior notice again.

The problem is that the Department of Education has seven different BOE commissioners from seven different districts. If they make an unpopular decision for our area, all we can do is vote out one of these commissioners. We have no power to vote for six out of seven of those commissioners because they don’t even live in our area. There is no ‘check and balance’ process for a lousy decision. We have no power to sue because they have sovereign immunity. We have no power to use a local city’s land department to prevent the construction. There is no review process if they don’t comply with their own school siting or expansion guidelines. There is no power of the public to hold a referendum on the decision. We cannot do arbitration. We can’t even speak for ourselves, as the AJC newspaper only prints the opinion of a former teacher ‘activist’ opinion and ignores everyone else. It’s like, this board can make the worst decisions ever, and there is nothing we can do short of harassing these people in their personal lives. Literally, all we can do is elect a local commissioner that will promise to obstruct other BOE commissioners and make an unpopular decision for them because they didn’t listen to us. We need to form cities and create more ‘home rule’ where a city at least needs to approve a school site or expansion project as a local check and balance to a rouge school board. Cities should run the schools – not large counties where decisions are made by people who don’t live within the area. We simply must create a ‘check and balance’ system via a state statute codifying school siting and expansion guidelines, arbitration process, power of public referendum, cities gaining the power of running schools by state statute, or city land planning authority that must approve school sites and construction projects. We must get involved and create a process for where are voices are heard.

Your plan on the website has two big holes in it.

First off, you cannot simply tell half the kids at Henderson/Evansdaoe that they have to leave the cluster and go to a different High School. Many people such as myself created their entire real estate and child-rearing plans around being in this cluster. You are fully aware that being in the Lakeside cluster enhances our property values. That’s why you are here.

Secondly, where in the effective area would DeKalb county find land big enough to build a whole different hgh school? As well, a whole new high school by your plan would not only displace Henderson/Evansdale students but everyone in the county – just for the sake of going back to your protected 1960s vision.

Bigger is inevitable. If they need more land then purchase neighboring houses.

Son graduated 2005 in the smaller sized LHS; his was the first 9th grade class with no M2M. I oppose huge warehouse schools . We do not want anonymity for our kids, no Columbine environment. Keep it local! All the kids now residing in the City of Tucker should attend Tucker schools.
